The forecast really messed me up last night so this is only 1 hour with a few thrown out due to passing cloud - I nearly spent as long collecting the flats as I did the actual data...

I know my filter focus-offsets so can at least rotate my filters and get a colour image out of it, but there are only 2-3 subs for each channel in the composite. I collected L at 180 and 120s and would probably have done 60s as well given the chance. There are a couple of Ha in there for good measure as it's pretty low in the South.

On the plus side I suppose it shows that a mono camera isn't necessarily a total roadblock to short duration colour images

The position of my shed and the weather forecast may mean that's it for Orion for this season - if I get a bit more time on it then great but I won't hold my breath....

Description: Revenge of the **###*** clouds!
Another evening of subs mainly thrown out - and a power brownout for good measure during the best conditions. Adding a handful of extra subs wouldn't usually merit another version but this is so short of time that it can't hurt.
I think I need to re-check my focus offsets with the reducer on the blue in particular, or it could have been the high haze I suppose, but it's pretty enough.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
